Washington State, pro Union, pro Labor pinback. read the history note below! very scarce pin. made in Aberdeen Washington by Stamp Works. no dents, no gouges, no scratches, no stains. near mint to mint. HISTORY NOTE: thanks to www.historylink.org. In 1937, the WPA began to cut back on public works jobs and unemployment climbed back up. A new recession set in. Voters defeated a plan to scrap the decrepit electric trolleys of the municipal railway in favor of trackless-trolleys and buses, in part because of opposition from the motormen's union, which feared the loss of jobs. A relief crisis rose. To conservatives, particularly in rural Washington counties, unions' demands for higher wages and better working conditions were a barrier to recovery, not to mention the Communist influence. The anti-union Initiative 130, titled "Prevention of Labor Uprisings" was also called the right-to-work initiative. It was defeated in the November 1937 general election, but a majority of the states 39 counties supported it.  15.00

LAW ENFORCEMENT

authentic 1967 RCMP MOUNTIE Fur Hat.  Obtained from the estate of a former member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.  an authentic Mountie winter Fur Hat.  sometimes referred to as the YUKON HAT.  JUST like the kind worn by Sgt. Preston!  although not marked as such, I am 99.9% sure that this is Muskrat fur.   the label inside reads: Reliable Fur Co. Ltd. 1193 Phillips Square.  Montreal Que.  stamped "7 1/8 - 1967 - R.C.M.P.".   The green appears to have been the owner's name.   used.  no rips, no stains, no tears, no abuse (as found - I have not cleaned it).   excellent or nicer - used condition.  159.50

Circa 1953 vintage dark navy blue to black Tacoma Washington POLICEMAN'S HAT with the #4 badge. Badge has Eagle on top, with State of Washington seal in the center, POLICE below that and #4 in black. Appears to be nickel plated brass. Hat is a size 7 3/4. Leather sweat liner. The brim is shiny black patent leather and so is the strap. Silvered buttons on each end of strap. The badge is a screw post back. Legitimate piece obtained from long deceased officer's son. He showed me photos of his father wearing this exact hat. (sorry, no photos are offered with this hat). His father was a police officer with the Tacoma Washington police and the Pierce County Sheriff's department, Washington State, during the early 1950's. There are no flaws outside of minor wear to the finish on the badge. A classic police hat!  C-9. near mint condition.  89.50

Very ornate tooled leather holster for a POLICEMAN SNUB NOSE revolver. Has the NEW JERSEY STATE SEAL #219 tooled into the front of it. This is a hand made piece and not some commercially mass produced item. Early 1950's vintage. The leather loop or clip from the reverse side is missing. Still, could be repaired if someone was so inclined, or makes a great display piece as it is right now. Could probably be used for another pistol, but the snub nose .38 makes a great fit.  excellent - read description and see photos.  39.50
